My QR code is already printed. Can I change where it goes?+
Yes, as long as it is a dynamic QR. Open the QR in your dashboard, change the destination URL and save. The printed code keeps working and the next scan lands on the new destination.
Do I need to reprint if I change the destination URL?+
No. The QR image encodes a QR2GO short link, not the destination itself. Updating the destination in the dashboard is enough.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?+
A static QR encodes the final URL directly in the image, so once it is printed, the destination is locked. A dynamic QR encodes a QR2GO short link, which we resolve to the current destination at scan time.
What is the difference between Explicit, Hidden Tracked and Direct Untracked?+
Explicit shows a brief QR2GO page (with optional countdown and Premium branding) and records analytics. Hidden Tracked redirects instantly and still records analytics server-side. Direct Untracked redirects instantly and records nothing.
Does changing the destination delete old analytics?+
No. Past scan events remain attached to the QR. The destination change is also recorded server-side as an audit entry.
Can I see scan analytics?+
Yes. The dashboard shows per-QR scan analytics — counts, timestamps, geography (country/region/city), device and browser breakdowns — within your retention window.
Can I use my own branding on the redirect page?+
Yes, with a Premium subscription. In Explicit mode you can add your logo, a custom title and a custom subtitle to the redirect page.
Is redirect tracking GDPR-compliant?+
QR2GO is built for European businesses. Raw IP addresses are never stored — only a salted SHA-256 hash. Coordinates are reduced to roughly 1.1 km precision. Retention is bounded, and Direct Untracked records nothing at all. See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.
Can different QR codes have different redirect modes?+
No. The redirect mode is currently an account-level setting and applies to every dynamic QR in your account at the same time.
What happens if QR2GO is temporarily unavailable?+
Dynamic QRs depend on QR2GO being reachable to resolve the destination. We host in Germany on infrastructure built for high availability; if you want printed media to work without any external dependency, generate a static QR or use Direct Untracked mode (which encodes the destination directly in newly generated images).
